A filament dryer or sealed storage with desiccant is essential. ## Food Safety The base PET polymer is food-contact safe (it's what water bottles are made from), but 3D printing introduces complications: layer adhesion creates micro-pores that harbor bacteria, and colorant additives may not be food-safe. Food-safe certification requires virgin material, appropriate dyes, and often a food-safe coating.
