ACC Long 600mg effervescent tablets (manufactured by Sandoz) contain acetylcysteine (NAC) at 600mg per tablet. NAC is a mucolytic — it breaks down thick, sticky mucus, making it easier to cough up. Indications: productive coughs, bronchitis, chest congestion with thick mucus. Dosage for adults and teenagers 14+: - Half a tablet (300mg) twice daily, OR - One whole tablet (600mg) once daily Administration: dissolve in water. Take after meals to reduce stomach irritation. Drink plenty of additional fluids — this is critical for mucolytics, as hydration is needed for the thinned mucus to be effectively cleared. Contains lactose, sodium, and sorbitol (relevant for intolerances). Store below 30°C.
